Russian, Yuri Yakovlevich, known as Yuri Arbachakov, successfully defended the WBC flyweight crown, knocking out Argentinian challenger, Hugo Rafael Soto. The fight was at the Ariake Coliseum in Tokyo. The Referee was Alfred Asaro. The Judges were Gus Mercurio, Dae Eun Chung and Rudy Jordan.
