As part of the celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Supplies Center in Mexico City, the family of the World Boxing Council traveled to the east of this city to visit this iconic place for Mexican culture.
The General Coordinator of the Central de Abasto, Marcela Villegas Silva, commented that more than 90,000 people work in this facility, She also said that this is one of the largest and most important supplies’ centers in the world, which offers fruit, vegetables, meat and more to practically all Mexico City and the metropolitan area.
Today, after two years of challenges due to the pandemic, we seek to recognize the efforts of all workers, consumers, and all those who have kept the Central de Abastos alive in these 40 years.
For this reason, the WBC together with the Central de Abastos will present a tournament and a continuous program, with the firm intention of promoting sports, health, discipline, respect and coexistence.
