Carolina Duer, the warrior who made history

Former triple world champion Carolina “Turca” Duer from Argentina, is a true fighter inside the ring, and a competitor in everyday challenges too.

“When I started boxing, I came from a traditional Jewish family, and there weren’t many women at that time in the Sport, so I had to overcome all the prejudices. I thought only about boxing.”

One of the achievements she can boast in her career is that in history she is registered as the first Jewish woman world champion.

“the moment began to break prejudices with society. Today there are still people who tell me that I do not look like a boxer, who see me as a very delicate woman, but I will also hit you in the face if you go with me to the ring, I’m just a woman who works as a boxer.”

And from Caroline`s  point of view, women must continue to struggle to go further every day. She observes: “Today women can reach more and more places that many years ago we would not have imagined. We must  continue working to leave in the past mistaken ideas of ​​how women should be.”

Durable Duer (19-5-1 and 6 KOs) will have the possibility of winning her fourth world title on the night of October 12 in Fresnillo, Mexico, against  Mariana ” Barby” Juárez (53-9- 4 and 18 KO´s) who defends her WBC bantamweight belt for the ninth time.
