
Mexican Gilberto Ramírez, ranked number 2 of the WBC, wants to be world champion for the second time in his career BY challenging the current light heavyweight champion of the World Boxing Council, Ukrainian Oleksandr Gvozdyk.
“Zurdo” Ramírez, who left the super middleweight division to chance his arm in the light heavyweight division. He`s confident that the match with the Ukrainian world champion (17-0, 14 KOs) will be completed soon to define who is the best fighter at 175 pounds.
In an interview with the sports newspaper ESTO he commented: “My company told me that it is very likely that I will fight in September. They advised me about the possibility of fighting Oleksandr Gvozdyk. This would be a great opportunity and hopefully he and his people accept. I’m sure the fans would enjoy it, “he concluded.
Similarly, he said that in that list of possible adversaries is also the name of, Artur Beterbiev (14-0, 14 KOs), another undefeated champion, on his way to proove he is the best light heavyweight of `m preparing myself for either of them. The objective is to be world champion this year and we are sure that we will achieve it.”
Currently the “Zurdo” is working on fitness in the Hill Street gym, and then on to the Wild Card Gym.
