Zepeda knocked out Redkach in two rounds

Californian with Mexican roots Jose “Chon” Zepeda returned to the path of victory by knocking out the experienced and tough Ukrainian Ivan Redkach in two rounds, this weekend at the Pechanga Resort & Casino in Temecula, California, on a card presented by Marv Nation.

In the first round, Zepeda hurt Redkach with a powerful left hook; and although he managed to survive that round, in the second Zepeda constantly harassed him with accurate body blows, which hurt him, sending him to the canvas. The Referee stopped the fight at 2:02 minutes of the second round.

With this victory, “Chon” Zepeda breaks a negative losing streak against Richardson Hitchins and Dalton Smith, to improve his record to 38-5, with 29 knockouts. For his part, Redkach fell to 24-8-1, with 19 knockouts.
With this victory, “Chon” Zepeda won the WBC interim super lightweight Silver title.
