No fluke for Fuke
The legendary Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan, was the setting for a historic night of women’s boxing this past March 9th. Japan’s Yuki Fuke achieved glory by capturing the vacant Oriental and Pacific Boxing Federation (OPBF) Super Flyweight title, an organization affiliated with the WBC.
On a card presented by SHINSEI Promotions, Fuke faced the tough Chinese fighter Xidi Wang. From the opening bell, Yuki Fuke displayed relentless determination, utilizing her technique and speed to dominate the ring and neutralize her opponent’s attacks.
The crucial moment came in the fifth round when the Japanese fighter’s superiority became evident, forcing referee Sayumi Okaniwa to halt the action at the 1’40” mark. With this technical knockout (TKO) victory, Yuki Fuke solidifies herself as one of the new figures to watch in the region’s female divisions, now proudly wearing the OPBF belt.
