Camila Zamorano, a 17-year-old Mexican boxer, will contend the WBC interim atomweight title against Japan’s Mika Iwakawa this Saturday, June 14, in her hometown of Hermosillo, Sonora.
If she secures this title, Zamorano would become the youngest world champion in history.
Zamorano won the WBC international atomweight title late last year, defeating Norj Guro by unanimous decision.
Camila “Magnifica” Zamorano has an undefeated record of 11 wins, 1 by KO.
Mika Iwakawa holds a record of 13-7-1 with 4 KOs.
In another exciting bout, former Mexican world champion Juan Francisco “Gallo” Estrada will return to the ring, after his loss last year to Jesse “Bam” Rodriguez.
Estrada, 35, with a record of 44-4 with 28 knockouts, will face his compatriot Karim Arce, 28, with a record of 21-2-2 with 8 knockouts, to officially begin his bantamweight campaign.
