The three-division champion became the World Boxing Council straw-weight champion after defeating Mexican Elizabeth Lopez Corzo on Friday night in Guanacaste, Costa Rica.
Valle had to adapt to Lopez Corzo in the first rounds due to her aggressive style, always surging forward.
In the second round, a knockdown was declared in favor of Valle and the Mexican tried to compensate by going all out.
Yokasta began to win the rounds in a clear way, as the Mexican focused a lot of her offense and power punches. In this way, Valle achieved victory by wide unanimous decision with scores of 100-89, 98-92 and 98-91.
On March 29 of this year, Valle starred in one of the best fights of 2024 facing Seniesa Estrada, for the undisputed strawweight championship in what was a highly competitive battle from start to finish, a candidate for the best fight of the year, and now she is ready to resume her dream of becoming the undisputed champion at 105 pounds.
“Thank you Costa Rica, this is for you,”
“If Seniesa decides to come back, I would love to fight her again. It’s a fight that people really want to see again.”
“Until then, I will focus on my goals and continue to strive to get the undisputed championship.”
