World Boxing Council President Mauricio Sulaimán, reiterated his commitment that world champions will be weekly be in the connection with prison inmates to help them with their training.
With the participation of 60 people deprived of liberty, the special online program was launched: Knockout: Don’t Throw the Towel, in order to reinforce resilience in these times of uncertainty due to the pandemic, through a reintegration the visored vision involves sports and physical development through boxing training.
Led by world champions and comprehensive attention to forgiveness and reconciliation, workshops contribute to the comprehensive rehabilitation of the inmate.
In the inaugural online event with the prisioners of the Tenango del Valle Penitentiary Center, this program is coordinated by the Secretary of Security of the State of Mexico in alliance with the World Boxing Council and the Viral Network. It also has the special participation of the Youth Integration Centers and the Foundation for Reconciliation and Forgiveness.
In this virtual meeting the inmates, protected with the necessary sanitary measures, were connected with the Secretary of Security of the State of Mexico, Maribel Cervantes, the secretary of the Penitentiary System, Manuel Palma. The President of the World Boxing Council, Mauricio Sulaimán and the coordinator of Red Viral, and Knockout program, Eunice Rendón.
Dr. Rendón emphasized the importance of not throwing in the towel. While the secretary and the undersecretary expressed their appreciation for the motivation given to them for the social reintegration of those deprived of liberty.
