
The World Boxing Council is honored to join a special Spring Training matchup between the Arizona Diamondbacks and Team Mexico, with WBC President Mauricio Sulaimán throwing the ceremonial first pitch to celebrate the spirit of international sport and community in the Valley.
“It’s a great honor for the World Boxing Council to join this outstanding event that celebrates community, culture, and the best that our beloved pastime has to offer”, said Sulaimán. “I grew up playing baseball, so America’s pastime is near and dear to my heart. I proudly wish Team Mexico great success at the World Baseball Classic, and we stand with both the Arizona Diamondbacks organization and the vibrant Mexican community in Arizona, whose passion continues to inspire unity and pride across generations.”
