There are already three editions of this famous tournament that started in 2015 with Mercosur 1; The tournament has been such a magnificent and sustained success, with the 4th edition currently ongoing. The tournament winners are gaining prestige in Uruguay and most importantly, the opportunity to travel to Mexico to train with great champions and face the finest amateur fighters throughout the region in a special tournament.
This brilliant amateur campaign, boxing was the inspiration of Life President José Sulaimán who, in various conversations with Sampson Lewkowicz, saw and identified the shortcomings of amateur boxing and that is how a special program came to be developed.
