The super middleweight champion of the World Boxing Council, Mexican Jaime Munguía (42-0, 33 knockouts) will face the tough British fighter John “The Gorilla” Ryder (32-6, 18 knockouts) in a 12-round battle.

Fight night, presented in association with Zanfer Boxing and Matchroom Boxing.

It wiil be at the Footprint Center in Phoenix, Arizona on Saturday, January 27.

Jaime Mungía, ranked number 2 by the WBC, last fought in June 2023 winning the WBC Silver Super Middleweight Championship against rugged  former world title contender Sergiy Derevyanchenko, in a masterful performance that was recognized by the WBC as Dramatic Fight of the Year.

John Ryder showed his resolve  when he went the distance with current undisputed world champion and boxing Superstar, Canelo Alvarez, in May 2023. He has defeated several top contenders, the most notable being Daniel Jacobs. He is currently ranked No. 8 in the WBC ratings at 168 pounds.
