Presenting chapter 26 with a great guest, considered one of the best coaches of the moment, a man who has developed himself in sport with discipline and passion, Eddy Reynoso.
Eddy, is known worldwide for being the man who, together with his father Jose “Chepo” Reynoso, has burnished the career of world champion Saul Alvarez. They began working with “Canelo” since he was a child and continue doing it to this day. Eddy has also been a champion maker of other stars. The first of them being Oscar “Chololo” Larios.
In a pleasant conversation, Eddy recalls hat it was at the age of 8 when his father took him to the emblematic Arena Coliseo. But it was not until the age of 12 that a strong interest in boxing grew in him.
Eddy commented, that at the beginning he dreamed of becoming a world champion; However, there was a point in which he felt frustration at not reaching the goals he wanted as a fighter, and he looked for a different direction. Then a very special character in his life appeared , to whom he owes much of what he is today…Rafael Mendoza.
His passion for boxing and the dedication have established Eddy as one of the best coaches and although he has always worked hard with his dad, today he has his own fighters, such as Oscar Valdés and Ryan García. , to name a few.
Eddy stresses that there is no magic formula, only hard work, discipline and hunger to always want to be the best, no matter that you are in the top, as he considers that in boxing as in life, you always learn something new. With a pleasant conversation, Eddy let us see the intimacy of one of his favorite places when he is at home. That is the very pace, where he has a huge collection of fights, awards he has received, the special clothing of his champions -which he has framed- and various accolades that remind him of his time in boxing.
Grateful for all that life has given him and especially boxing, Eddy acknowledges that opening a place as a trainer has been difficult, because in the beginning nobody believed in him; however, his work is speaking for itself.
Honored and grateful to receive the countless greetings from the people who joined this talk, where he was even named the best trainer in the world, Eddy revealed that for him, the best Mexican fighter is Julio César Chávez, followed by names like: Gilberto Román , Miguel Canto, José Medel, Juan Manuel Márquez, Marco Antonio Barrera, Ricardo López, Pipino Cuevas and Jorge Arce, to name a few.
