WBC Super Featherweight Division Status

The World Boxing Council announces that in accordance with its Rules and Regulations, a purse bid will be held, for the rights to organize the match between the world super featherweight champion, O’Shaquie Foster and the challenger, Eduardo Hernández, ranked #1.

It will take place tomorrow, Tuesday, August 8, during our weekly press conference in Mexico City. Interested promoters can participate via Zoom.

Foster, from USA, defeated Mexican two-division world champion Rey Vargas in February, to win the vacant World Boxing Council 130-pound belt at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. He will now comply with the first mandatory defense of his WBC belt.

Mexican Eduardo Hernández reached number one spot in the WBC super lightweight rankings, achieving important victories during the past three years.
