WBC President praises the courage and inspiration of Adonis Stevenson
The constant and ongoing efforts of former World Boxing Council light heavyweight champion Adonis Stevenson to recover from his brain injury, have been praised by WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman.
The WBC has appointed Adonis an Ambassador of Hope, due to his tireless efforts to encourage and inspire people of all ages, battling life threatening illnesses. Adonis, who was born in Haiti, but has lived most of his life in Canada, is visiting Mexico and came to the Martes a Cafe weekly press conference, where Mauricio presented him with a photo portrait and a Green and Gold Bracelet, as a champion, who has overcome the most difficult fight of his life.
Mauricio described Adonis` triumph against adversity as: “A testament of life.” He also said: “It is an extraordinary story and so gratifying to see Adonis here. We praise God for the opportunity he has and now his mission in life is to be The Champion of Hope, to bring inspiration and dignity to those who need the message of help and unity. Adonis continues to move on with his life and he`s an example to everyone.”
