At a time when the world seems so chaotic, when our basic values are being assaulted, one thing that remains constant is the WBC’s devotion to athletes, the needy, and our beloved, companion animals.
Yes, we take care of our pets, but they also take care of us. They comfort us. They show us unconditional loyalty. They make us laugh and are unconditionally there for us at all times.

Right now, because of the economic crises, natural disasters, wars and other unfortunate conditions, animal shelters are overwhelmed, overcrowded, animals are starving and being euthanized because we simply don’t have the means to take care of them. We are helpless.Or are we?
As WBC Champion, Canelo said, “I use my strength to protect my family and my animals are a part of my family.”

We praise President Claudia Sheinbaum who has instituted new animal protection laws in the Mexican Constitution!
WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman and the WBC are having a Call to Action.
With the power of a boxer, you too can use your muscles and have a positive impact on this tragic situation. Whether you adopt, volunteer, donate or as Pope Francis did, simply teach your children about the rights of our animal friends, you will create a legacy of love. And like a great fighter, you can turn an Underdog into a Wonderdog
