A week full of excitement and Thai Boxing was what was experienced in Nuevo Leon, Northern Mexico.
Several countries from the Continent participated, dressing in Green and Gold to participate in the most important Amateur Muaythai event held in Mexico.
More than 500 competitors gathered to highlight their skills and show off their technique to try to obtain Gold in each category, among the countries there were classifications from children 10 years old and up to open categories for adults, as is well known each participant was well protected by their Amateur team based on the regulations of the Olympic Committee, Helmet, elbow pads, 12 oz gloves.
The tournament was held in 4 days and was a complete success, as all the delegations were very happy with the pleasant experience they had in Mexico.
A World Professional Muay Thai Championship evening known as “MAJOR LEAGUE” was held afterwards, where some national and international titles were contested, and to close with a flourish, the event concluded with the first Women’s World Championship in Mexico, where the American Selina Flores, current Monarch, retained her title against the Brazilian Barbara Fersan.
Muay Thai continues to grow day by day and we hope that this year will be full of more Green and Gold Championships.
The organization thanks Ismael Flores, General Director of the Confederation of Mexican Workers for his support and especially the President of the WBC, Mauricio Sulaimán Saldívar, who was the one who officially inaugurated the event.
