The World Boxing Council family has received the sad confirmation that Weatta Frazier, daughter of legendary world heavyweight champion Joe Frazier, has passed away.
Weatta Frazier was born on September 18, 1963 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, daughter of Joseph and Florence Frazier. She grew up in Lafayette Hills, Pennsylvania with her parents and four of her siblings. In 1982, Weatta continued her education at the Philadelphia Art Institute receiving an Associate’s Degree in Fashion Merchandising.
Throughout her life Weatta was always distinguished by her humanity and good heart, as she always did important work for the community.
Based on these precepts, Weatta founded “The Legacy Exists,” a nonprofit scholarship fund created to exemplify the embodiment and humanitarianism of “Smokin’ Joe Frazier.”
The pursuit is to implement the “Champion” philosophy of hard work, unity and self-motivation. He emphatically verbalized how crucial these characteristics were to the growth potential of young people’s lives.

The WBC family and our President Mauricio Sulaimán are greatly saddened, however, we are confident that her memory will be preserved by all those Weatta touched during her life.
We send our deepest condolences to the Frazier family.
May she rest in eternal peace.
