We have the saddest news… At 66 years old, the charismatic Brazilian boxer José Adilson “Maguila” Rodrigues Dos Santos, has passed away in Sao Paulo, Brazil, after multiple health complications.
During and throughout an impressive and memorable plus magnificent professional boxing career spanning 17 years, “Maguila” Rodrigues fought a total of 85 fights, with 77 victories and 68 knockouts.
Adilson was the Brazilian and South American heavyweight champion and was the first and only Brazilian to fight for a world title in this division. The power and the glory remain as vestige testaments.
The World Boxing Council and its President Mauricio Sulaimán, send deepest condolences to the family and friends of “Maguila” Rodrigues. You have left us a legacy of wonderous memories and in our turn, we will never forget the magnificence of the mark you have forever left us.
