WBC international champions crowned in Istanbul

Avni Yildirim and Juan Diego Ortíz are the new international middleweight and international silver middleweight champions, respectively.

On Thursday, June 26, the “Mega Fight Arena 3” event was held at the Sinan Erdem Sports Complex in Istanbul, Turkey. 

Two WBC international titles were at stake in the event. 

First, Avni Yildirim fought Jhon Caicedo for the vacant WBC international light heavyweight title. 

Jhon Caicedo was beating the Turk on the scorecards in the first round, but by the second round, Caicedo no longer had the strength to continue. Yildirim turned the fight around by knocking Caicedo out. The Colombian fell twice in the second round and once in the third.

Avni Yildirim became the new WBC international middleweight champion.

In the main event, Juan Diego Ortiz and Serhat Guler fought for the WBC international silver middleweight title. 

The fight lasted only two rounds because the Colombian knocked the Turk down twice, with the second knockdown being enough for the referee to stop the fight.

Ortiz is the new WBC international silver middleweight champion.
