
Ever popular and greatly admired Leon “Neon” Spinks has another battle on his hands, as he`s being treated for an abdominal ailment in the Veterans Hospital, Las Vegas.
Due to the Pandemic and its medical rules, Leon`s family is not allowed to constantly be at his bedside, but adored Wife Brenda is visiting him today, to bolster him with the love of everyone including his many fans from every corner of the Globe.
Leon and brother Michael famously and splendidly won Light heavyweight and middleweight Gold Medals, at the Montreal Olympics in 1976. For the previous three years Leon had served his Country in the Marine Corps. Both brothers went on to become heavyweight champions of the world as professionals.
In only his eighth professional fight, Leon accomplished what many experts considered utterly impossible. He shook up and upturned the world by defeating the Greatest Muhammad Ali, via split decision, winning the undisputed crown. One of the greatest surprises in the long history of boxing, it will forever be cherished as a staggering achievement, involving supreme willpower and self belief.
