WBC Champions Accompany President Claudia Sheinbaum

The President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, presented the National Strategy Live Healthy, Live Happy Awards, which, among other things, seeks to prohibit the sale of ultra-processed and high-calorie foods in public and private schools, replacing them with healthy foods.

The initiative faces high-caliber challenges: reducing obesity that affects 40 percent of girls, boys and adolescents and alleviating public finances from the growing expense in illnesses related to overweight.

This project involves not only avoiding the sale of junk food, but also training school authorities on appropriate menus for students, solving the problem of lack of access to drinking water, raising awareness among parents about healthy foods, urging the food industry to improve its products and, of course, encouraging as well as having more physical activity.

Supporting this great initiative, world champions Pipino Cuevas, Humberto “Chiquita” González, Daniel Zaragoza, Mariana “Barby” Juárez, Lulú Juárez, Rafael “Bazooka” Limón, Francisco “Bandido” Vargas and Irma “Torbellino” García were present, correct, svelte and slimline.
