As part of the preliminary activities for the highly anticipated international boxing card to be held this weekend, the social arm of the World Boxing Council, WBC Cares, carried out a moving visit to a public hospital in the city of Pereira, Colombia.
The delegation was led by WBC Vice President Alberto Guerra, accompanied by ring officials and prominent boxers, including several protagonists of this weekend’s event.
During the visit, they delivered toys for children, essential baby items such as diapers and cans of formula, as well as critical medications requested by the medical institution to strengthen the care of its patients.
WBC Cares is the non-profit organization of the World Boxing Council, whose mission is to bring hope to those who need it most.
The program utilizes the positive influence of ring idols and the boxing family to visit hospitals, orphanages, and youth centers, demonstrating that the WBC does not only fight inside the ring, but also for the well-being of the global community.
This social activation serves as a prelude to the great card headlined by prospect Carlos Sinisterra, who seeks to take a definitive step toward the world rankings in front of his people.
The main objective of the event is to consolidate the growth of the sport in Colombia, a nation historically recognized for its breeding ground of talented and resilient fighters.
The evening will feature several title bouts that complement an ambitious card:
Carlos Sinisterra vs. Gregorio Rios – International Silver Championship (Super Welter)
Juan Diego Ortiz Carmona vs. Santiago José Fernández – International Silver Championship (Middleweight)
Carl Hield vs. Carlos Eduardo Jiménez – Fecarbox (Middleweight)
Dago Valdez vs. Daniel García – Continental Latino (Bantamweight)
Juan Narváez vs. León Gavilán – Continental Latino (Super Middleweight)
Sidney de la Rosa vs. Diego Quiñónez – Continental Latino (Middleweight)
It will be a night charged with regional titles and key opportunities for several prospects looking to climb positions within the continental rankings.
With events of this caliber, the WBC reaffirms its commitment to the development of Colombian boxing, projecting its athletes toward the international stage while holding firm in its humanitarian work.
