Italian competitor Muhamet Qamili has chosen to prepare in Mexico, as there’s no
doubt that this nation is considered one of the world’s boxing powerhouses.
It’s acknowledged and appreciated among those in the know that Mexican boxers undergo tough, demanding high-altitude training camps, which is reflected in their powerful performances.
This hasn’t gone unnoticed by Italian fighter Muhamet Qamili, who is currently competing in the WBC Boxing Grand Prix. He has decided to join the training team of Jay “Panda” Najar, the same coach guiding Mexican contender Misael Cabrera Urías, who is also participating in the tournament taking place in Saudi Arabia.
Both fighters are currently training in Jiquipilco, State of Mexico, a high-altitude town that has become a proven destination for professional boxers, seeking improved and sustained endurance, strength and power.
Qamili, born in Albania but representing Italy, competes in the featherweight division. He recently defeated Holy Dorgbetor of Ghana in the Round of 16, and in the quarterfinals, he’ll face one of the toughest challengers in the tournament: Troy Nash from the United States, considered one of the favorites to win the prestigious José Sulaimán Trophy.
Meanwhile, his training partner, Misael Cabrera Urías of Mexico, fights in the super lightweight division. After defeating Orlando Barajas in the previous round, he will now square off against Mujibillo Tursunov of Uzbekistan in what promises to be one of the most exciting matchups of the division, given the clash of styles. Both are determined to propel in order to excel.
