The World Boxing Council (WBC) and WBC Muay Thai joined forces to support communities affected by severe flooding in Hat Yai, Songkhla, and other areas in southern Thailand. As part of this humanitarian initiative, both organizations coordinated the delivery of four trucks loaded with essential consumer goods to the Thai government’s Disaster Relief Coordination Center.
The delegation was led by Major General Thanapol Bhakdibhumi, President of WBC Muay Thai and the Asian Boxing Council, who oversaw the operation alongside representatives of the WBC, WBC MuayThai, and the WBC Care foundation. The delivery was personally received by Lieutenant General Adul Boonthamcharoen, Deputy Minister of Defense and Director of the Disaster Relief Coordination Center, who expressed his gratitude for the support during such a critical time for thousands of families.
The event took place on December 3, 2025, at the Coordination Center located inside the National Air Force and Aviation Museum in Bangkok. The ceremony was attended by prominent sports figures such as world champion Oleksandr Usyk and boxing legend Roberto “Hands of Stone” Durán, as well as members of the WBC Care foundation, led by Chris Manzur and Jill Diamond, along with around fifty participants and relatives attending the 63rd WBC Annual Convention and the first WBC Muay Thai Convention, held from November 30 to December 5 in Thailand.

The Aid Reception and Transfer Coordination Center serves as a vital hub for collecting and efficiently distributing support from various sectors to the affected regions. With this action, the WBC and WBC Muay Thai reaffirm their social commitment and their willingness to use the power of sport to help those most in need, strengthening the spirit of solidarity that defines the global boxing family.
