Verde y Oro Tournament in Iztapalapa

The Verde y Oro Tournament will take place on Saturdays January 10, 17, 24, and 31 at the Iztapalapa borough esplanade, with the participation of 360 amateur fighters, 60 of whom are from Iztapalapa.

This event continues the WBC’s Verde y Oro amateur tournaments, which in Mexico have featured more than 1,500 participants, in addition to tournaments held in various countries around the world.

Aleida Alavez, Mayor of Iztapalapa, said:

“It is wonderful to have so many champions here. This is your home in Iztapalapa. All boxing fans are very happy to have you here. It is a pleasure to announce the Verde y Oro Tournament for animal welfare. This is a tournament with a cause. We want to promote sport, but also the care and protection of animals.”

At the conclusion of the conference, two inaugural bouts of the tournament were held.
