World Boxing Council champion Oscar Valdez (30-0, 23 KOs) will fight the WBO champion Shakur Stevenson (17-0, 9 KOs), on Saturday evening at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
Valdez and Stevenson will compete to become the division’s first unified champion since 2005.
Valdez, from Nogales, Mexico, is a two-division world champion who defended the WBO featherweight crown on the same night Stevenson turned pro in April 2017. Stevenson, also a two-division king, comes from a TKO victory to win the world title over Jamel Herring.
This Friday both warriors were face to face for the last time, before entering the ring, at the official weigh-in. Valdez weighed 129.6 pounds, while Stevenson was 130 pounds.
The Valdez vs. Stevenson unification matchup will air live on ESPN, ESPN Deportes and ESPN+ at 10pm ET / 7pm PT.
