VADA reports Ortiz Jr. vs Madrimov with negative tests
In a press release, VADA, the association that regulates the Clean Boxing Program, announced that the doping tests of both fighters were negative.
Vergil Ortiz Jr successfully defended his interim super welterweight championship on February 22 against Uzbekistan’s Israil Madrimov by unanimous decision.
VADA issued a statement today announcing that the tests performed on the fighters were negative.
In 2016, the “Clean Boxing Program” was implemented, dedicated to carry out doping tests in the WBC. The association in charge of sample collection, chain of custody and laboratory analysis is VADA, with which the WBC has an agreement.
How to register for the Clean Boxing Program?
- Fill out 3 forms: Registration, athlete’s location and therapeutic use.

- Inform if there is any change of location with respect to the first instance given in the forms as well as provide facilities for the taking of evidence.
- To comply with the resolutions issued by WBC and VADA.
