Usyk debuts as heavyweight in the United States

Showing off his excellent boxing technique, his speed, his waist movements and his solid southpaw guard, the former undisputed cruiserweight world champion, Oleksandr Usyk, started his campaign as a heavyweight with a seventh round stoppage of Chaz Witherspoon.

Usyk had full control of his rival, cornered him throughout the fight and looked pretty good during his debut as a heavyweight.

Chazz’s corner decided that their fighter had already suffered enough punishment, not having a chance to win the match and it all ended at the conclusion the seventh round.

In this way, the Ukrainian fighter makes his arrival to the maximum division of the sport with the firm intention to do what he did as a cruiserweight, face and defeat the best fighters. He’ll have to face rivals such as Deontay Wilder, Tyson Fury, Andy Ruiz, Anthony Joshua, Joshua Parker, among others.
