The long-awaited second meeting between Brandon “Fast Guns” Thysse and Roarke “Razor” Knapp is scheduled for Saturday at the Emperor’s Palace in Kempton Park, South Africa.
The vacant ABU super welterweight title will be up for grabs. The African Boxing Union is affiliated with the World Boxing Council and is chaired by Houcine Houichi, Vice President of the WBC.
The first meeting between the two was a war until the seventh round, when Thysse knocked out Knapp.
Almost 3 years have passed. The two fighters have improved and are willing to show it.
Thysse’s progress with coach Damien Durandt has been constant. His solid jab has always been there, but he has added a formidable body attack and is boxing in a more disciplined manner.
Knapp bounced back from the loss and posted four knockout wins since he fell to Thysse. Among his victims are Tristan Truter and the then national champion, Simon Dladla. Trained by Vusi Mtolo, Knapp has the speed, the power, the aggressive style that clearly shows that he will have an epic second match against Thysse.
