In an astonishing act of bravery, Mussa Abraimov, a 52-year-old former boxer, single-handedly disarmed a criminal at Almaty Airport, Kazakhstan.
The attacker, a 67-year-old man, threatened to detonate a bomb while holding a woman by the hair. Abraimov fearlessly intervened and convinced the man holding a knife to let her go and for him to take her place.
In the blink of an eye and the flash of a whisker, Abraimov bravely disarmed the attacker and then subdued him.
The WBC wishes to recognize Musa and names him a “Hero of Humanity” and will present him with a medal, highlighting his extraordinary bravery.
The World Boxing Council created the “Heroes of Humanity” award to recognize those who bravely faced the Covid-19 pandemic, but it has been extended to those who have performed heroic acts. Above and beyond.
