Continuing apace the “Year of Africa” celebrations, a major boxing event at the Bukom Boxing Arena in Accra, Ghana, starring and featuring the WBC African Bridgerweight title, and it didn’t disappoint!
Nigerian boxer Andrew Tabiti , who resides in the United States, surprised and thrilled the local crowd with a jolting fourth-round knockout victory over Ghana’s Jacob Dickson, securing the commemorative WBC “Year of Africa” Belt.
The highly anticipated bout headlined the “Battle of the Beasts” boxing event, organized by Legacy Rise Sports and Amir Khan Promotions.
From the opening bell, Tabiti, who trained with Floyd Mayweather Sr., showcased his class and and sheer determination. An early arching uppercut sent Dickson crashing to the canvas in the first round, setting the tone and scene for the fight.
Dickson was knocked down three times before the end came at 1 minute and 34 seconds of the fourth round, when Tabiti delivered another decisive blow to seal the knockout extraordinary victory.
African boxing legends, including Azumah Nelson, who was honored for his distinguished career, were present to witness the extraordinary event.
With this big win, Andrew Tabiti improves his professional record to 21 victories in 23 fights, solidifying his return to the top, on African soil. What a night!
