The WBC Wishes World Champion Camila “La Magnífica” Zamorano a Speedy Recovery

The World Boxing Council, its President, Mauricio Sulaimán, and the entire Green and Gold family send a message of support and solidarity to our young Atomweight World Champion, Sonora’s own Camila “La Magnífica” Zamorano, following her successful emergency surgery.

This Friday, April 17, Camila underwent a laparoscopic appendectomy at the Hospital San José in Hermosillo, Sonora.

The procedure, performed by Dr. Luis Enrique Parra Menchaca, was completed successfully and without complications.

Our champion is currently in the recovery stage under strict medical observation. We are well-acquainted with the discipline, dedication and strength Camila displays in the ring, and we have no doubt that this same tenacity will lead her to a swift recovery.

The WBC will be closely monitoring her progress, respecting the necessary timeline to ensure her health remains the absolute priority before her return to the gym.

The WBC joins Coliseo Promotions in expressing gratitude to the medical staff and to all the fans who have shown their concern and affection for the Sonoran champion.

Camila is a source of pride for the World Boxing Council and a shining example of youth in Mexican sports; knowing that she is stable and out of danger is news we celebrate.
