
The Nicaraguan Sports Institute signed a cooperation agreement with the World Boxing Council (WBC), led by Mauricio Sulaimán, to develop a series of projects in 2020, which will contribute to the development of amateur boxing in Nicaragua.
The WBC has managed to develop projects for the development of amateur pugilism, leading the campaign of not approving the participation of professional boxers in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
Marlon Torres, IND director, and Bismarck Morales, WBC representative in Nicaragua, were in charge of signing this collaborative project.
The Agreement was presented this Wednesday, at the facilities of the Sports Institute, with General Juan Alberto Molinares, president of the Nicaraguan Professional Boxing Commission, international judge Jacinto Obregon, the director of the National Superior Boxing Commission, the manager of Fernando Sánchez boxers, among others.
Marlon Torres. “This project will have financial support that will guarantee these actions. They can vary, such as a course for trainers, and of course eminars for doctors,” he explained.
Torres also indicated that this project will try to carry out, in addition to the seminars of judges, referees and doctors, the participation of Nicaragua in amateur tournaments of the WBC abroad, possible camps abroad of selections of Nicaragua, among other points that are on the WBC agenda.
“We are giving the opportunity for children, youth, women, men, so everyone will have the opportunity to practice their favorite sport, in the best conditions, ” Torres explained.
Bismarck Morales was enthusiastic about this agreement of the WBC with Nicaragua, which will serve for the development of the sport, and the accurate training of all those involved.
