The World Boxing Council and its President Mauricio Sulaimán, mourn the death of Japanese boxer Kanamu Sakama, an undefeated light flyweight prospect ranked 15 by the WBC.
Sakama, just 20 years old, passed away last Sunday, on the weigh-in day for his scheduled fight to defend his Japanese Youth 108-pound belt against Hyuga Oki.
We send our deepest condolences to Sakama’s family at this difficult and so very sad time.
May he rest in Eternal Peace.
