The WBC mourns the passing of Jesús Erosa Chichonal

The World Boxing Council and its President Mauricio Sulaimán deeply mourn the death of Jesús Manuel Erosa, a prominent referee and judge who participated in multiple important WBC fights.

Our beloved Chichonal, as he was known in the boxing world, in addition to serving as a ring officer, was a prominent journalist in Yucatán.  Greatly respected, deservedly admired and very much missed.

All the WBC family pray with his family and friends. We have lost a Great, one of our very own, and a steadfast constant friend, who will always be remembered fondly and with the greatest of affection.
