The WBC mourns the passing of Great Actor Ignacio Lopez Tarso

Legendary Ignacio López Tarso, a brilliant Mexican actor who entertained us with an amazing and versatile career, spanning more than seven decades, died on Saturday at the age of 98.

López Tarso shared the silver screen with the actresses Silvia Pinal, María Félix and Dolores del Río, as well as with the directors Alejandro Jodorowsky, Pedro Armendáriz and Emilio Fernández. The beloved actor was deservedly recognized multiple times for his unique talents.

The entire World Boxing Council Family and its President Mauricio Sulaimán send our deepest condolences to the many friends and the family of Don Ignacio. He will always be remembered as an All Time Great. A Film Star in every sense. We have gained… and now we have lost so much!

Rest in peace Don Ignacio. Thank you for the wondrous plus priceless legacy you have left us.
