
The World Boxing Council and its President Mauricio Sulaiman, are mourning the death of former World Boxing Council champion, Colombian Prudencio Cardona.
Cardona, a native of San Basilio de Palenque, Bolívar, died at the La Merced clinic in Barranquilla after complications in his state of health.
Prudencio will always be remembered for becoming the fourth Colombian champion to win the World crown on March 20, 1982 after defeating Mexican Antonio Avelar, in Tampico, Mexico.
The entire WBC joins Prudencio’s family and friends, in these sad moments. Rest in peace Dear Prudencio. You are always our beloved Champion.
