
This morning the traditional Coffee Tuesdays moved to the facilities of the Mexican Institute of Social Security, to present a new initiative which will give all young people and children dedicated to boxing the opportunity to have a high school career, plus other initiatives.
This was announced by the President of the WBC Mauricio Sulaiman, Héctor García, technical coordinator of physical culture and sport of the IMSS and accountant Óscar Flores, head of administration and finance at the secretariat of public education.
For the WBC`s Leader, education and sport are foundations and and will inspire new generations. Education is the pillar of the formation of any human being, which is why it is so important that the Secretary of Public Education is focusing upon creating synergy with sport.
Héctor García stressed that sport is a great health boost, while it helps keep society safe and away from vices.
He recognized the tireless work of the WBC to safeguard the health of boxers but also for promoting initiatives for society, especially for young people and children.
He reaffirmed the commitment that the IMSS has with the WBC and assured that they will continue working on WBC Cares visits to MX City hospitals, motivational talks for the development of well-being, boxing clinics and physical activation days. He also announced that work is underway to launch boxing schools in various strategic IMSS facilities throughout Mexico.
Mr. García explained that very soon the IMSS and the WBC will announce great news that will change the lives of many champions, former champions, and boxers.
Ms. Xóchitl Lagarda, Director of WBC University, outlined the work carried out by the university and how important it is to have training spaces, which is why she promised to incorporate this technological baccalaureate program into its curriculum.
Four-time world champion and current sports director of Baja California, Erik Morales, said that we must see education and sports as one, since both are the tools for healthy development.
He urged all his counterparts to participate in initiatives that promote meaningful development, to become an example for those children and young people who dream of being like them, but above all to follow the teaching of Don José Sulaiman: “live to serve”. .
Pipino Cuevas, sports director of Hidalgo, and former world champion Rubén Olivares thanked everyone involved for always being one step ahead and for working tirelessly.
