The WBC deeply regrets the passing of Jaime Ríos
The Family of the World Boxing Council and its President Mauricio Sulaiman Saldívar deeply lament the death of the former Panamanian champion, Jaime “Cieguito” Ríos.
Ríos died on Wednesday at the age of 66, confirmed Jaime Salas, President of the Boxing Commission of Panama.
The Retirement of “Cieguito” was announced in 1978. But he returned 14 years later to perform two more bouts and finally hang up the gloves, leaving his record with 22 wins with 10 knockouts, 5 losses and 1 draw.
The WBC joins the family of “Cieguito” Rios and the Panamanian people in these sad moments, eased with the balm of wonderful everlasting memories.
