In the heart of Ixtapaluca, UMBE celebrated its seventh anniversary in the company of the entire boxing family and of course, the WBC.
Accompanied by Mr. Felipe Arvizu, Municipal President of Ixtapaluca and WBC President Mauricio Sulaimán, former world champions Humberto “Chiquita” González, Lupe Pintor, Pipino Cuevas, Francisco Vargas, Isaac Bustos and Rafael Limón, the UMBE family celebrated 7 years of work and achievement, which has involved a lot of sacrifice, effort and dedication.
Mr. Felipe Arvizu, Municipal President of Ixtapaluca, was in charge of welcoming the entire boxing family and giving special recognition to those who have brought the sport of boxing to the municipality of Ixtapaluca. Hundreds of children and young people have opted for sport, with the dream of becoming great idols.
Delighted and proud to recall what UMBE has achieved, WBC President Mauricio Sulaimán, said that the work of Carlos “Bondojo” Hernandez is worth admiring and replicating, since he is a man who never rests. He is always looking for how to magnify boxing, but above all that, he seeks in every possible way to help youth.
Carlos “Bondojo” Hernandez, President of the UMBE stressed that this initiative was born thanks to his mother who, after seeing him and his brother directing a boxing fight that they were following on television, told them that it would be better for them to take that knowledge to gyms.
Mum tends to know best at times like this, and thanks to that wise advice, Carlos, began this great journey, and so the UMBE started. Today it is one of the strongest and finest boxing organizations nationwide, and it has the support and recognition of the WBC.
“The hope of a positive change and seeing the need for a real impetus in boxing in Mexico is the main objective of the UMBE, an initiative that thanks to joint work has been implemented in more than 20 states of the Mexican Republic where they have great representatives.
“Today, I can only thank each and every one of the people who have joined this project. You are the heart and driving force of UMBE, but I want to make a special acknowledgment to my friend and mentor, Mauricio Sulaiman, a man who like his father, watches over boxers and takes boxing to all corners of the world.”
Carlos Bondojo announced that he will continue working for boxing, but especially for children and young people who dream of becoming world champions. Therefore, he announced that his new mission will be to create a boxer’s house, a place that will open its doors to everyone who needs it.
