
This morning at the Auditorium of the Secretary of Public Security “Capital Social” of Mexico City, the President of the World Boxing Council, Mr. Mauricio Sulaimán and Mr. Omar Hamid García Harfuch, Secretary of Citizen Security and Héctor Sulaimán, President of Scholas Ocurrentes in Mexico, presented recognitions to Citizen Security police officers, as part of an historic agreement between the SSC-CDMX and the WBC.
Both are committed to promoting various activities in favor of boxing, such as recognizing policemen who stand out for a heroic act, a tribute to the police during the fights that take place in Mexico, as well as a boxing program through seminars, motivational talks and joint work on social events with the police to achieve a unity between champions / citizens and elements of the police.
For Mr. Sulaimán, this day is unforgettable because being able to recognize those heroes who go out to seek the protection of citizens in a place where there are no rules, where there is no protection count risking their own life is something inspiring for everyone.
At this point and as a symbol of the effort and commitment to work as a team, the leader of the WBC presented a pair of Cleto Reyes gloves, to Omar Hamid García Harfuch, Secretary of Citizen Security, as well as a giant glove signed by all the world champions who joined us today.
For Mr. Omar Hamid García Harfuch, Secretary of Citizen Security, encouraging the Police work through a recognition granted by the WBC in collaboration with the SSC, in the strict sense of social justice,
This dignifies and enhances the great work that the Police of the Citizen Security of Mexico City.
The Secretary stressed that he is proud to have this collaboration program with such an important organizartion as the WBC, he assured that for the police it is imperative that officers are recognized, because at the end of the day they are those men and women who take care of us leaving their homes with the hope of returning.
“In the police we deal with many adversities; However, we are distinguished by the policemen who, regardless of obstacles or vicissitudes, are always willing to perform heroic acts, with honor, courage and a lot of discipline, for me, it is an honor to recognize these anonymous heroes, because every day we have stories of value and courage that show us that there are more good people and that by working with passion we can make a safer city, where everyone can live in complete harmony. ” -he commented.
Finally, he commented that boxing is one of the few sports that promotes values and trust that more and more police officers will follow the example of their colleagues who were awarded today.

Jiménez Estrada Arturo, Undersecretary of Police Operation.
Reyes Arriaga José Alfredo Police, Banking and Industrial Police.
Within this boxing party, the police officer Alberto “Alacrán” Ruiz was presented with the belt that he recently won and that credits him as the new Latin American continental lightweight champion, an example of struggle and perseverance in and out of the ring.
The event was attended by former WBC world champions Humberto González, Lupe Pintor, Daniel Zaragoza, Pipino Cuevas, Isaac Bustos, as well as the pioneer and Diamond monarch Ana María Torres and interim champions Jessica González and Sonia Osorio.
