The Prevention System Against Unequal Fights was founded in 2015 and has the mission of evaluating all fighters who compete for a World Boxing Council title; whether it is a world championship fight or for a regional or subsidiary belt.
The process is simple, the committee led by Dean Lohuis receives information from the protagonists, a study and analysis of the fighters’ records is carried out, it is considered how many rounds they have fought, injuries suffered, tough fights experienced, suspensions, interruption of fights , defeats, knockouts achieved and received, among other factors.
Dean has kept meticulous records for forty years, creating profiles of more than half a million boxers, allowing the committee to detect which fights are potentially dangerous.
Following up on the weekend’s fights, the case of boxer IVÁN MENESES, originally from the state of Puebla, was identified. Despite not being the protagonist of headline fights, the WBC strongly recommends his immediate suspension because continuing to fight professionally puts him at risk.
Here are the facts:
-Meneses was a highly ranked contender 11 years ago, but now he has not achieved a victory in his last 14 fights.
-In his last three fights he has been stopped twice in round 1 and once in round 2
-He was tough and competitive in his prime, but his resistance has decreased noticeably and the more he receives blows, his condition worsens with each fight.
-He has had extremely tough fights against fighters like: Felix Alvarado, Julio César Martínez, David Cuellar, Rashib Martinez and Jade Bornea.
-In his last fight he was knocked down by a left to the chin from Christian Medina in the first round.
-According to Dean’s system, he had NO chance of winning this match. However, he was the protagonist of the semi-main event on a card broadcast throughout Latin America.
-In recent fights, a preliminary fighter stopped him at one minute and fifty-seven seconds because he was taking too much punishment.
-He Recently he was stopped in two rounds in a battle which should not have taken place because his undefeated rival did not meet the weight limit of the agreed division.
-He has a professional record of 19 wins, 26 losses, 12 of them by KO. He has only had one win in his last 19 fights.
Based on these facts, the World Boxing Council, through the Committee for the Prevention of Unequal Systems, recommends the immediate suspension of IVÁN MENESES. Likewise, we urge managers and promoters to stop abusing his condition, because apart from the fact that his appearance in star fights means a deception to the fans and this sport, his physical and mental well-being is put at risk every time. who goes up to the ring.
