With the assistance of girls and boys from various schools; in addition to the Tlaxcala government representatives; former champions Jorge Arce, Mariana Juárez, Lupe Pintor and Rafael “Bazooka” Limón, former champion Jackie Nava offered a motivational talk.
Within the framework of an international boxing event that takes place in the state of Tlaxcala, the Xicotencatl Theater was the venue where the Tijuana native offered a “power of fear” motivational talk.
“The only way to overcome fear is to face it” said Nava when remembering her first fight in kick boxing, being the discipline that would bring her closer to boxing.
“I was training when they told me they had a fight for me in Hawaii, I thought I had nothing to lose so I accepted it, even though I went there with fear, there was no other option” she mentioned.
Nava also talked about a special year 2005, when she had the opportunity to be the first WBC champion.
“Fear has two effects, either you get scared, or you move on” said Jackie.
