The Glory of The José Sulaiman Trophy beckons

The winners of the Boxing Grand Prix will not only win a  handsome and handy check for quarter of a million dollars, they will also hold aloft a trophy dedicated to the greatest Boxing Administrator in History, plus gain the opportunity to fight for the Silver Belt  in their respective divisions. 

The winners of the Boxing Grand Prix will be awarded the “José Sulaiman, Flame of Hope” Trophy. 

This eternal flame glittering prize represents the realization of the dream and the foresight- vision of José Sulaiman, Lifetime President of the WBC, who envisioned holding the first world boxing championship in history. Here and now, with the help of his son and WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman together with His Excellency Turki Al-Sheikh, they are realizing and accomplishing the tangible reality.  It represents a new chapter in Boxing History. 

It`s  a Trophy  of  potency, potential, realization, culmination and triumph. 

An exquisite masterpiece, it consists of a round green base, where we can see six elements in high relief combining and blending different colors. This is a gem from Riyadh Season that symbolizes the dynamics and evolution of the sport. 

Rising from the base of the trophy, we find the signature of the WBC’s lifetime President as a tribute, eternally marking, signifying and celebrating  the sum of his brilliant, innovative and lasting work on behalf of Boxing. 

The colors that provide the clue to the hue of the trophy, green and gold, also have significant meaning.

They represent hope and glory, two concepts that form the basis of the WBC. What an accolade of achievement to hold aloft!
