The Fall is here with Big WBC fights throughout October

The World Boxing Council  is preparing for a spectacular October, with bumper action.

October 5 / Claressa Shields vs. Ivana Habazin / United States

Everything is ready at the Dort Federal Event Center in Flint, Michigan in the United States for the fight between Olympic medalist Claressa Shields and Ivana Habazin, with the WBC Female  super welterweight  title and the Diamond Belt simultaneously at stake.

October 12 / Mariana Juárez vs. Carolina Duer / Mexico

Poised  to make the ninth defense of her WBC Female bantamweight crown, Mariana Juarez has stated that the belt will remain in Mexico and although her plans are to climb up a division, she is sure she will defend her belt with honor and passion.

However, things will not be easy because ex champion Carolina is determined to return to her native Argentina with the spoils.

October 12 / Jessica McCaskill vs. Erica Farias / Illinois

WBC Female super lightweight champion Jessica McCaskill faces Argentina’s Erika Farías in a rematch. Erica arrives with the intention of regaining the championship. However, it won`t be a simple task, as Jessica has established herself as a great champion.

October 18 / Oleksandr Gvozdyk vs. Artur Beterbiev /

The prospect of a superb  fight between the WBC champion Oleksandr Gvozdyk and Artur Beterbiev, two titans of the light heavyweight division. And this is expected  to be  a strong candidate for Fight of the Year.  Both have won most of their contests by KO

October 25 / Estrella Valverde vs. Sonia Osorio / Mexico

Estrella Valverde and Sonia Osorio will fight in Texcoco de Mora, State of Mexico, with the interim Female WBC superfly title at stake. Sonia predicts  that she will be the new WBC interim champion, while Estrella is focused and determined  to win this match because one of her goals for 2020 is to win the absolute world title that is currently in the hands of Lupita Martínez.

October 25 / Wanheng Menayothin vs. Simphiwe Khonco / Thailand

With a record of 53-0; 18 Ko´s and 11 successful defenses of the WBC crown, – since winning it  in November 2014 – Wanheng Menayothin is ready for his next challenge,  South African Simphiwe Konco comes to this commitment with the firm conviction to dethrone him.

October 26 / Lorissa Rivas vs. Gwendolyn O’Neil / Trinidad and Tobago

Lorissa Rivas and Gwendoline O’Neil will make history on October 26, when they fight for the vacant WBC Female heavyweight title at the Saith Park Indoor Arena, in Chaguanas, Trinidad and Tobago being the first time a heavyweight crown is contested in this region.

October 26 / Regis Prograis vs. Josh Taylor / United Kingdom

With the promise of a true war, Regis Prograis and Josh Taylor are in competitive  action at the O2 Arena in  London with the WBC super lightweight Diamond title at stake. Unbeaten Prograis, originally from New Orleans and now based in  Houston,  will fight the undefeated Scot in a duel that generates high expectations, as it will be the final of the World Boxing Super Series at 140 pounds.
