Next Saturday at Wembley Arena in London, Matchroom will present Irish Katie Taylor Vs Spain’s Miriam Gutiérrez and WBC super featherweight champion Terri Harper (10-0-1, 5 KO) will face Katharina Thanderz (13- 0, 2 KO), a Norwegian fighter, resident in Altea, Spain since childhood.
Thanderz, 32, was proclaimed Interim WBC world champion in November 2019, and has been waiting for Harper ever since. There were several attempts and then she fought in August against her compatriot Natasha Jonas, getting a draw.
“For me it was a very good fight. Anyone could have won. Regardless of the result, it was a very good fight and very positive for the image of women’s boxing. I am happy that the WBC has ordered the mandatory defense against me as the interim champion. It was a tremendous joy. I was training at a good pace and when they told me I just had to tighten the nuts a little to do a specific preparation, “Thanderz said in an interview.
“I have it very studied. I was also helping Eva Wahlstrom when she fought against her. In that fight, in which I think there was also a lot of equality, I already saw weak points that were evident against Jonas and I will take advantage of that on the day of the fight.”
