Japanese fighter Tenshin Nasukawa will face his compatriot Takuma Inoue for the vacant WBC Bantamweight World Championship.
The fight is scheduled for November 24th at the Toyota Arena in Tokyo, as part of the Prime Video Boxing 14 card.
The Green and Gold belt was vacated after the previous monarch, Junto Nakatani, decided to move up to the Super Bantamweight division.
Nasukawa, a former kickboxing star, made his professional boxing debut in 2023 and has quickly built an undefeated record of 7–0 with 2 knockouts, including victories over experienced opponents like Jason Moloney and Victor Santillan.
For his part, Takuma Inoue, the younger brother of Naoya, was the WBA Bantamweight champion after defeating Liborio Solís in 2023. He successfully defended the title against Jerwin Ancajas and Sho Ishida but lost the belt in 2024 against Seiya Tsutsumi.
The fight is generating great anticipation in Japan: Nasukawa seeks to consolidate his status as a global figure in boxing, while Inoue aims to reclaim a championship and reaffirm his career. The winner will become the new WBC Bantamweight champion.
Both warriors complied with the 7-day pre-weigh-in established by the WBC.
The World Boxing Council congratulates both fighters and their teams for their discipline and commitment to the organization’s rules and regulations.
