World Boxing Council silver super lightweight champion, Josh Taylor, gave a great boxing show to his people at The SSE Hydro, Glasgow, Scotland, with a TKO in the sixth round against Ryan Martin, advancing to the semifinal of the World Boxing Super Series Super Lightweight tournament.
Taylor showed multiple skills and qualities in the ring, totally dominating. Martin attempted to raise the intensity, after hearing and trying to heed his corner, but he threw less and less punches and Taylor covered himself well. The local boxer varied and moved, effectively proving elusive to Martin.
A tad of controversy, because after a Taylor blow forced Martin to go on to one knee the Referee decided to stop the fight there and then, but Martin was absorbing increasing punishment.
The next match of Taylor will be against the unbeaten Belarusian Ivan Baranchyk, in the semi-finals of the World Boxing Super Series tournament on a date to be defined.
