
For the fifth consecutive year, the Mi Chante Foundation held a golf tournament in honor of José Sulaimán Chagnón, raised funds to support and develop emerging sports figures.
The tournament was held at the Club Campestre de Tijuana, Mexico. Saul Canelo Alvarez and former champions Erik Morales, Jackie Nava, Jaime Munguía, WBC President Mauricio Sulaimán, and other notable figures, played for a worthy cause.
“This is the fifth tournament in honor of my father. I am very proud that my father, my beloved Don José, my old man, continues to be remembered, that it is a place where all sports and society come together for a very beautiful day,” commented the WBC President.
Teams of six players competed, and there were significant prizes for participants, including a raffle for 70 golf club covers donated by Cleto Reyes, as well as golf balls and bottles of wine.
The Mi Chante Foundation was founded in 2018 by Abelardo Peña, aims to support talented young people in achieving their dreams as athletes, ensuring their education, and developing good citizens. It also promotes physical activity for a healthier community through events dedicated to a cause.
This foundation provides scholarships, financial support, professional mentoring, and also serves as a sponsorship partner.
